Ultra-high-definition resolutions that bring unmatched clarity and detail to the visual experience
France Télévisions will broadcast the Lyon Dance Biennial in Ultra High Definition HDR. This production and broadcasting standard provides viewers with very high-quality images. To this end, an event channel has been created: ici Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes UHD.
France Télévisions will broadcast the Martinique Carnival in Ultra-High Definition HDR. This standard delivers the event in optimal quality, showcasing the vibrant and iconic colors of the celebration with exceptional fidelity. To achieve this, a special event channel, Martinique la 1ère UHD, has been created. It will be accessible both in the overseas territories and mainland France from March 2 to 6.
With 70% of French households now equipped with a 4K/UHD TV, television standards are changing and so are viewers' expectations. France Télévisions is adapting its offering and is becoming the first audiovisual group to introduce an Ultra High Definition (UHD) channel on TNT.
For the third year running, France Télévisions will be covering the race in Ultra-High Definition and, from 16 October, will be setting up a 24-hour events channel: Réunion la 1ère Ultra-HD.
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Grand Raid, France Télévisions is setting up an event channel: Réunion 1ère Ultra-HD. During the four days, 24 hours a day, eligible viewers on the island or in mainland France will be able to follow the race live, watch the best moments or discover 4K programmes produced by the Réunion la 1ère teams.
During the Roland Garros 2019 tournament, France TV demonstrates live streaming of 8K video to connected TVs and mobile devices using a trial 5G local network deployed by Orange. In the continuity of the experiments already conducted in Ultra-HD at Roland Garros 2018, France Télévisions sets up this year an event channel, available on-air via TNT, satellite and IPTV throughout the two weeks of the tournament.

Roland Garros was in 2018 the opportunity for France Télévisions to conduct its first 8K trials.
