As with the Paris Olympics, France 2 UHD will broadcast the events in native UHD HDR. But this year, to further improve the quality, the images will be broadcast in HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, which allow the contrast balance to be adjusted scene by scene. These two competing standards share the market for recent televisions.
On the audio side, a new user experience is also available for owners of Dolby AC-4-compatible televisions.
Three mixing options will be available:
- traditional mixing, with a balance between commentary and ambient sound
- mixing where the commentary is increased by 6 dB to improve the intelligibility of human voices
- ambient sound only, without commentary
