Every year at Roland-Garros, France’s leading media group presents the RGLab — a space for discovering technological innovations. It’s the result of a long-term vision and sustained effort by France Télévisions’ Digital Innovation Department.
At the NAB Show in Las Vegas in early April, France Télévisions was awarded the Project of the Year prize for its france.tv Paris 2024 system. The event channel provided live coverage of the Olympic flame's journey from May 7 to July 28.

In line with its commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in the media field, the Innovation Department of France Télévisions, in collaboration with the French Tennis Federation (FFT), presented its 2024 edition of RGLAB on the theme of "Tennis and Spatial Computing," featuring mixed reality, 3D, virtual production, and artificial intelligence.
100 years after the first time, Paris will once again welcome the Olympic flame this year. Bringing together 15,000 athletes from all over the world, the event promises to be a historic one, with the opening ceremony taking place for the first time outside a stadium, on the banks of the Seine in the heart of Paris. How do you see the future of France TV?
For the third year running, France Télévisions will be covering the race in Ultra-High Definition and, from 16 October, will be setting up a 24-hour events channel: Réunion la 1ère Ultra-HD.
For almost 20 years, Roland Garros has provided France Télévisions with an ideal playground for testing the innovative uses and technologies that will shape the television of the future. This year, the Innovation Department, in partnership with the French Tennis Federation, is offering an RGLab on the theme of "Immersive Tennis and AI".
France Télévisions is testing with NOKIA, Aviwest and XD Motion the 5G transmission of a stream from robotic cameras installed on the site of the Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Grand Raid, France Télévisions is setting up an event channel: Réunion 1ère Ultra-HD. During the four days, 24 hours a day, eligible viewers on the island or in mainland France will be able to follow the race live, watch the best moments or discover 4K programmes produced by the Réunion la 1ère teams.
The Digital Department of France Televisions, with the Sports Department, has proposed a new test of Immersive Social Space dedicated to Roland Garros and the universe of Stade 2.
On September 22, France Televisions was part of #DemainLeSport event at the Maison de la Radio. This event, co-organized by franceinfo, l'Équipe and France Télévision, proposed panel discussions around 6 main themes: environment, ethics and Olympism, inclusion-diversity-mixity, technology innovation and data, health-education-youth.
