Global Doc réunit France Télévisions, ZDF, NHK, PBS, CBC, SVT, Channel 4, RAI, ORF, ABC Australia et TV Brasil, ainsi que les distributeurs France Télévisions Distribution, PBS International et ZDF Studios.
Les producteurs sont invités à soumettre des projets ambitieux et événementiels, destinés aux plateformes des diffuseurs tout en pouvant s’adapter à une diffusion linéaire.
Nous recherchons des projets modernes et innovants qui font revivre le passé ou nous aident à imaginer l’avenir.
Un jury international composé de représentants de chaque diffuseur sélectionnera un maximum de 3 projets.
La date limite de réception des dossiers est fixée au 31 mars 2026, et les lauréats seront annoncés en juin 2026.
Sujet : Les projets traitent d’un sujet scientifique ou historique avec une approche innovante dans la réalisation et le récit. Ils seront attractifs et accessibles pour un large public international.
Style : La réalisation doit captiver le public avec un style rythmé et immersif. Le récit sera porteur d’émotion et éveillera la curiosité. L’histoire sera incarnée par des personnages forts et charismatiques.
Approche visuelle : La forme et le contenu doivent être actuels et modernes, capables de séduire un public jeune. Le projet offrira une expérience visuelle riche : fictions, évocations et animations de tout type sont les bienvenues.
Format : Le format est variable, mini-séries de 2 ou 3 épisodes de 45 ou 52 minutes, ou 4 x 30 minutes. Les formats pourront se décliner en modules courts.
Une qualité particulière, une originalité ou un caractère inédit seront appréciés.

• Une logline et un synopsis d’un paragraphe
• Un traitement d’environ 10 pages avec le déroulé de l’histoire ou de l’enquête
• Une description claire du traitement visuel
• Une description des expert.e.s et des lieux de tournage
• Une présentation des équipes : écriture, réalisation, production et création graphique
• Un budget détaillé et un calendrier de production

CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY PROPOSALS
International broadcasters unite for Global Doc 2026
Public service broadcasters from across the world are launching a new call for Global Doc documentary proposals at World Congress of Science and Factual in December 2025.
The companies involved are France Télévisions, ZDF, NHK, PBS, CBC, SVT, Channel 4, RAI, ORF, ABC Australia and TV Brasil as well as the affiliated distributors France Télévisions Distribution, PBS International and ZDF Studios.
Producers are invited to submit proposals for ambitious new factual programme formats which can attract attention in the online streaming space, while also being adaptable for linear transmission.
We would like projects in a resolutely contemporary style, which bring the past back to life or help us imagine the future.
An international jury composed of representatives from each broadcaster will select a maximum of 3 projects.
The deadline for proposals is 31 March 2026 and the winners will be announced in June 2026.
Subject: The projects should illuminate a scientific or historical story, but innovation in storytelling will be considered as important as the subject matter. Bear in mind that the programmes should always remain accessible to a large and global audience.
Style: The narrative style should be immediately engaging, able to appeal to the emotions as well as the brain, immersing the viewer in the story. Strong protagonists we can identify with provide a clear advantage.
Visuals: The form and the content should be contemporary in style, able to appeal to younger viewers. Drama sequences, and animation of all kinds are welcome, but the project must provide a rich visual experience.
Format: The format can be flexible, including mini-series of 2 or 3 episodes of 45’ or 52’, or 4 x 30’, for example. We would welcome formats which can serve as the basis for short modules.
The project should have a special quality which stands out in the international factual market.
Required information:
• A logline and a one-paragraph synopsis
• A treatment of approximately 10 pages, setting out how the story will unfold
• A clear description of the visual treatment
• Description of experts and shooting locations
• Details of production teams (writer, director, producer, and graphic design team)
• Complete budget breakdown and production schedule
